I started my career as a professional, and when I got my first place, I had no clue how to purchase furniture. Back then, buying home furniture felt like an extremely hard task—expensive, heavy, and complicated. Delivery services were often unreliable, and there was no installation support included. Everything was do-it-yourself, and it was overwhelming.

Later on, I transitioned my career into the furnishing business, which became my first venture. I started this business just before COVID hit. When the pandemic struck, we had no choice but to rely on local UK furniture suppliers. It was during this period that we really began to notice the issues in the furniture industry: expensive products, uninspired designs, and poor quality.

Even though we were paying significantly higher prices than expected, the costs were still ridiculously high. At that point, I became deeply curious—to discover why paying more doesn’t necessarily mean receiving a better product.

Driven by this curiosity, I traveled to Asia, where most of the world’s furniture manufacturing happens. I spoke with furniture manufacturers, exporters, interior designers, professional buyers, and others in the global furnishing industry. It wasn’t long before I realized that the core issue was quality control. Without stringent checks, even well-designed furniture pieces can fail to meet expectations. That’s when we decided to establish our own internal Quality Control (QC) team. Our dedicated QC professionals inspect every single piece of furniture before it reaches our customers. This commitment to furniture quality assurance has become a cornerstone of our business.

Another major issue I noticed while running my furnishing business was the UK furniture market’s limited material choices. They kept using the same materials: oak wood for storage furniture, rattan for outdoor tables and chairs, and ash wood for coffee tables. These materials felt uninspired and overused. I realized there was so much potential for creative design, new materials, and unique concepts, yet the market was stuck in a rut.

It’s also important to recognize that many local UK furniture suppliers source their products from Asia. However, simply sourcing from Asia doesn’t automatically guarantee better prices or quality. Without proper quality control measures, these imported pieces often suffer from inconsistent standards. That’s why, when we source globally—including from Asia—we do it differently. We work directly with skilled artisans and manufacturers, and we have our own dedicated QC team on the ground. Every piece of furniture is thoroughly inspected before it reaches our customers, ensuring superior quality standards and product integrity.

At that moment, I made it my mission to challenge the status quo. I wanted to bring freshness, creativity, and above all, high-quality furniture into the UK furniture market.
